Mallam Adamu Ciroma, a statesman, presidential hope and the first editor of the New Nigerian, the most influential newspaper in its days at the age of 84.
He died at the Turkiush Hospital in Abuja on Thursday.
Adamu was the Northern arrow head that threatened to make the country ungovernable for the former President Goodluck Jonathan during his second term bid.
