Thousands of enthusiastic supporters filled the space at the Action Democratic Party(ADP) campaign flag-off, where governorship candidate, Otunba Segun Adewale was officially handed the party’s flag for the July 14 Ekiti State poll.
The event which took place at Christ School in Ado-Ekiti last Saturday, saw the National Chairman of the Party, Engr Yusuf Yabagi Sani led other members of NWC to formalise the candidature of Adewale as the party’s flagbearer.
Thrilled with the massive crowd, which symbolizes acceptability for its governorship candidate, Engr Sani expressed confidence of victory in the poll that will take place this weekend.
The ADP boss emphasised that the party remains the best alternative for salvaging Ekiti state from ruins, urging electorate in the state to make the best choice by voting for ADP on the day of election.
Speaking in the same vein, the South-South leader of the Party, Senator Roland Owie urged Ekiti people to vote out poverty and ensure they do not repeat failure, saying it is in the best interest of the Ekiti people to vote for ADP, for rapid development and growth.
In his welcome address at the event, the Chairman of the Party in Ekiti State, Chief Kunle Abegunde, said ADP is the only party capable of bringing respite to the Ekiti people, urging the people of the state to vote for the party on Saturday.
The event became ecstatic as the surging crowd burst into excitement when the ADP candidate, Otunba Segun Adewale mounted the podium to speak, throwing the atmosphere in an electrified mood as loud chants of “OSAPraPra” as Adewale is fondly called by followers across the state, rented the air.
Adewale thanked leaders of the ADP for making their platform available for him to run in his bid to turn around the economy of Ekiti for good, sharing his vision to use education, entrepreneurship, tourism, agriculture and prompt payment of salaries and pensions to return the state to the path of prosperity.
He also highlighted plans to focus on electricity generation as well as youth and women empowerment through small and medium entrepreneurship financing scheme.
Adewale who could not hide his happiness at the massive turnout of Ekiti people for his campaign, assured them of living up-to his promise and wouldn’t disappoint their trust if elected on July 14th.
The event was witnessed by various interest groups in the state who pledged their supports for Adewale.
After the official handing over of the flag, the ADP candidate, Otunba Segun Adewale took a walk along Fajuyi road where crowd continues to trail him.______________________________________________
