Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun, a former local government chairman and APC chieftain who recently defected to Actions Democratic Party, ADP was attacked by alleged APC thugs in Ijebu-Jesa under Oriade Local Government.

Taiwo Fatiregun who was once a chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC recently left the party with Alh. Moshood Adeoti, former Secretary to the State Government of Osun on the basis of planned direct primary to favour the candidacy of Alh. Gboyega Oyetola, A Guber Aspirant and Chief of staff to the State of Osun.

In the early morning of Saturday, 28th July, 2018, some group of hoodlums and political thugs stormed the residence of Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun and attacked him on his way to Actions Democratic Party, ADP meeting organised in support of the gubernatorial candidacy of Alh. Moshood Adeoti.

It was reliably gathered by our reporter that Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun as a former caretaker chairman for 5years under Aregbesola administration is mobilising people and canvassing party members of APC for Alh. Moshood Adeoti, a candidate of Actions Democratic Party, ADP. “He’s working day and night to make the new bride, ADP grow bigger and larger by using his influence as a former party chieftain. He condemns Aregbesola and appraises Moshood Adeoti. That’s why he was attacked” as stated by a member of the ruling party, APC.

In response to this attack, our reporter consulted Hon. Taiwo Fatiregun who was taken to an unknown hospital by sympathizers and he responded as follows. “They want to take my life. I know them. I was on my way to ADP general meeting in Ijebu-Jesa before I was attacked suddenly from behind. They are APC thugs in Ijebu-Jesa. The Incumbent imposed chairman of Oriade Local Government is the one behind this attack. They have seen nothing because we will continue to campaign heavily for Alh. Moshood Adeoti.”
