Agoro alleged that the magnitude of corrupt practices going on in the parties with funds of no traceable sources being channeled into the political arena to corrupt and induce people is of concern, adding that the INEC looks the other way to the acts of the parties.
In the suit marked ABJ/OS/782/18, filed and dated 16th April, 2018, Agoro, who represents himself as the plaintiff, sought a declaration of the court that “the decision by the INEC to look the other way and or to continue looking the other way whilst the 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants hold sway corruptively abusing the electoral process of Nigeria with sources unknown, be declared by this honourable court as illegal, void, unlawful and unconstitutional.
“That the first defendant allowing the 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants to recklessly use funds with no traceable sources and without locatable sources to induce and corrupt particularly INEC officials to pervert the electoral process, like in the Ekiti election, be declared by this honourable court as illegal, void and of no effect”.
In the 17-paragraph affidavit the 74-year-old patriarch deposed to at the FCT Abuja Registry, he miffed at the open day declaration by the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, who in newspaper reports had said that he rigged elections for PDP, noting that a serious consideration is put into it.
He also alluded to the looters list currently being circulated by APC-led Federal Government and which list names contained former PDP members now in APC; that almost all of them now in the APC were formerly in PDP; and the SDP was currently enmeshed in N100m Dasuki Gate corruption scandal through the confession of presidential candidate and Afenifere Leader, Chief Olu Falae.
Agoro also averred that “about almost all the top shots of APC particularly some of them in the Senate and House of Representatives are indicted for various crimes of corruption, now using the cover of NASS to hide from further being pursued by the EFCC”.
Stressing that “Both APC and PDP are one and the same party camouflaging as one”, Agoro said “Unless my prayers before this honourable court are answered positively, the democratic process of Nigeria shall never be free of the evils of corruption.
